Overcomplicating it

Except the readers, Raistlin.

Okay, folks. If you don't know by now, I'm a HUGE fan of Dragonlance. In particular, a fan of Raistlin. I couldn't explain why, I just do. The series is EXCELLENT. If you like fantasy adventures, or if you like Dungeons and Dragons, I highly recommend reading(starting with the Chronicles trilogy). It's based on a DnD-type setting, and really develops a full, rich, interesting world with several novels detailing everything from the adventures of the main characters, to the minor races of the world that normally get skipped over completely.

This scene is pretty much right out of the book, "Brothers in Arms", where Raistlin has recently come out of an ordeal that left him shattered, with both a gift and a curse- the curse on his eyes, to see everything as time affects it, and the gift of the renowned Staff of Magius. He's trying to figure out how it works, and has read a diary entry detailing a particular feature of the staff- the ability to light itself. The only clue was that the magical phrase sounded like "Shark".

The rest of this, aside the last panel, is word for word what happened next. This one scene amused me far too much, and I was inspired to draw this.
